Appointments

How to Request an Appointment

You can request an appointment in the following ways:

Doctors Appointments

Doctors can be seen by appointment only, except in an emergency. To view individual doctors consulting times, please view our doctors schedule.

When contacting a GP, we request that this is limited to one problem per appointment. If you do have more than one problem you would like to discuss, please state the number of problems on the online form, and if you do not have access to the online form, then please speak to reception to assist you.

Extended Hours Surgeries

We work in partnership with the other practices in our PCN providing extended hours coverage. Our extended hours surgeries take place on Tuesdays from 18:30 to 20:30. Late night surgeries are primarily for workers who find it difficult to attend day time appointments.

We will always do our best to provide you with the appointment of your choice. Please remember there is a huge demand for appointments and as a result we cannot always guarantee this. You will be offered the best alternative if this is the case meeting your request.

If you are Unable to Attend

If you are unable to attend your appointment please let us know, by completing our cancel an appointment triage or alternatively by calling the practice on 01384 277377 so we can use the appointment for another person.

Between April 1st 2016 and March 31st 2017, 2635 patients failed to turn up for their appointments. The cost of this “lost time” is equivalent to Dr’s hours / practice nurse hours / piece of equipment, which could improve the service we offer to you.

Emergencies

We make every effort to see patients with urgent problems during normal surgery hours. Emergency appointments are not for patients who cannot attend during normal surgery hours because of work or family commitments.

Please remember emergency patients are seen in addition to our normal appointments at the end of normal surgery.

If you believe your problem can wait until an appointment is available during normal hours, please do not ask for an emergency appointment.
